Silver Salmon Creek - Update

Postby siddu999 on Thu Jul 02, 2009 12:06 pm

First day was excellent. I reached SSCL around 11.00AM and after lunch we went on our first outing. We spotted around 3 brown bear sows (females). We were able to get very close and some time around 20 feet from bears.

Here are few images from day,

Jim,

Sorry. We lost connectivity at lodge during last 3 days. I am back in town and here are some more images. All in all Silver Salmon Creek provided some excellent opportunities to photograph beards during our stay. I was tagged along with a couple from Norway into a small group and Jenny was our guide. Our ride was an ATV hooked up with a small cart capable of holding 4 people. Every day we made multiple trips into park looking for bears and return back to lodge for breakfast, lunch and dinner. During our 5 days we saw around 15 bears. Some bears we were able to get within 25 yards. Almost all the bears are used to people presence and very co-operative. Last 2 days we spent a considerable amount of time with a Sow (female bear) and 3 cubs. Guides are very knowledgeable and helpful. Food is also excellent.
